Consultation for the Leadership Circle

After a four-part exploratory pre-mortem (what some call a 360 review), Ethos joins your management for a full-day, on-site intensive that leads to an analysis of strategic planning based on mission coherence or risk factors of drift.

Employee Engagement - Assessment & Process Work

Ethos utilizes two processes (assessments) for quickly determining employee satisfaction and engagement (and burnout if needed).  This leads efficiently to teaming, communication, internal and mindful self-exploration and reflection on roles and responsibilities.  A half-day or full-day intensive is available based on company needs.  If this sounds like something your group needs to experience, give us a call.  Ethos encourages the use of the Gallup Q12 and the MBTI (Myers Briggs Type Indicator).

Mission Realignment

So now the REAL work begins:  either handed off to your Human Resources or completed jointly with Ethos, the following dynamic consultation experiences will go as deep as you want to take them. These are tailored to be live, either on-site or via conference, based on your timetable and budget.  We hope to partner with you as long as you are seeing ROI.
Emotional Intelligence Training

The PLUS Side:  Soaking Up the Positive Each Moment
Emotional Intelligence is addressing our negative skew:  our innate, evolutionary bias to see and encode “danger” (stress, fear, worry) faster and more readily than safety, kindnesses, and what nurtures us.  Rick Hanson's  work about “Letting in the good” as a fundamental skill to practice if we are to experience more grace, patience, appreciation, gratitude and joy.  Put another way we need to see things as VERBS. Conscious activities to be ACTED UPON, they are not nouns that will come over us (though they can, sparingly).  So what practices do you do each day letting colleagues know the good is recognized here?  This is positive culture, but do we have symbols in our offices, signposts and words of wisdom that we are intentional about recognizing the good?  John Gottman has ascertained that healthy relationships need 4 positive compliments for each negative criticism.  Same for parenting that builds self-esteem.  Our people need to BE appreciated for their own shame to recede, for their own negative bias (the scared animal) to recede, for scarcity, worry-based fears to recede.  Brené Brown’s amazing research on shame emphasizes this too. Could your employees benefit from learning more about these skills?  Would a half-day or full-day training, or break-out session within a company retreat, benefit your corporate culture?  If so, give me a call!

Creative Cultures & Morale Diagnostics

Picture
Why do those rare companies excel so far beyond their competitors?  Why are 8 out of 10 startups dead in five years?Ethos believes those who thrive ask better, bigger and riskier questions.  This will be our collaboration: to reinvigorate your key decision makers with the creative space to re-commit to when and why they started with you.  To survey your specific market determining how you can serve others - or continue to - more fiercely than Competitor B.  *Secret:  great companies do not give a hoot about Competitor B, they're too busy perfecting their offering through constant feedback and openness to learning from mistakes.

Creative companies allow their people to innovate.  This by itself is risky because your primary assets, your smart people, will discover better ways to do what was done yesterday.  And you must adjust to this or move aside.  Many companies stall for this reason alone.  Every leader says he or she is open to change, but walking this talk necessitates a lot of reflection, pausing, listening, openness and flexibility. In other words, Ethos Internal Leadership.
Ethos:  the distinguishing character, sentiment, moral nature, or guiding beliefs of a person, group, or institution
